Skagit Valley College is excited to announce a scholarship opportunity for students interested in the Fire Protection Technology program. This scholarship is for incoming students Fall 2019 and includes full tuition, fees, books, uniforms, and certifications for the entire two-year degree program. Students will also be placed with a local Fire Department beginning in their second quarter to gain valuable experience in the field. Please see the attached application for more details.

Eligibility:  Graduating senior from Anacortes High School or Cap Sante High School or Current College students of APEO members only

Preference will be given in the following order:

    1. Relative of a current APEO member Para- Educator (Graduating   senior from AHS or CSHS)

    2. Relative of a current APEO member Para- Educator (Current College student, graduate of AHS or CSHS)

   3. All other applicants (Graduating senior from AHS or CSHS2.8 GPA or better

The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship

Amount: $5,000 (p/year up to 4 years)

Eligibility: Student planning to pursue a four-year degree at an accredited private college or university and a bona fide resident of Western Washington. Must complete application fully, composing a short essay, and achieving test scores on the combined math/reading SAT of 1200 or more (or equivalent ACT scores). Must have a financial need as determined by the standard FAFSA process. New applicants limited to entering freshmen for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Samish Indian Nation is looking for Anacortes High School Seniors who are dedicated to continuing their education in colleges, universities, or vocational schools which will provide them with skills for a long and productive career to benefit themselves and the community in which they live.
To be considered, students must have a minimum HS GPA of at least 2.0 and students participating in a 504 or IEP Program with their school are encouraged to apply. This award may be used for any type of higher education.

Eligibility: To qualify for the Conway Volunteer Fire Department Student Scholarship, the applicant must be a graduate of the Conway School District and be a current graduating senior. The recipient must apply the scholarship proceeds towards educational expenses at a technical/vocational, community college, university, or certified educational program.

Amount: (2) $2000

Eligibility: Created in memory of AHS student Serenity Thomas, who died at age 16 in August 2015 of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A one-time award to be given to residents of Anacortes over the age of 18 who are going into the fields of Special Education or related services. Of consideration - time spent in activities with special needs community, commitment to bettering the lives of people with special needs, involvement in the arts (esp. drama or music), home responsibilities and family interaction, high school and extra-curricular activities.  Two $2,000.00 one-time scholarships will be awarded.

This scholarship is offered by Shahram Salemy, MD FACS. It is open to high school seniors in the United States who have been accepted to and will attend college (either 4-year or community) in the United States, and have an interest in the sciences.
